Destination Wedding? Yes Please!

Dreaming of a beachside ceremony in paradise? How about tying the knot in Las Vegas, fondly known as the wedding capital of the world? No matter where you choose, a destination wedding is sure to make your special day even more memorable!

  • Location, Location, Location!
There are so many options to consider when searching for the best place to celebrate your nuptials with your closest family and friends. Think about where your guests will be coming from. If everyone is spread out across the country (or around the world!), a destination that is easy to travel to is key. Choose a location that has special significance, like the first trip you took as a couple, or somewhere new that you’ve been dying to visit together.

  • Make it Great Without Breaking the Bank
A destination wedding doesn’t have to break the bank. The easiest way to cut down on costs is to keep your guest list a little more intimate. Pare it down as much as you can, and keep in mind that not everyone you invite will be able to make the trip. Start looking for travel packages as early as possible to find the best deals to your dream destination, and be sure to ask your venue about off-season rates. Remember to leave plenty of time for your guests to make travel arrangements. Already booked a date with your venue? Get those save-the-dates out ASAP! This is the best way to ensure that your guests have enough time to plan ahead, and gives you an early estimate of who will (and will not) be joining you on the big day.

  • It’s All in the Details
Planning a destination wedding has its own unique set of challenges that can be stressful for any couple to navigate on their own. Consider hiring an experienced wedding planner to help with the particulars, from finding the best venue, to traveling with your wedding dress, and everything in between. They can help you set a realistic budget, keep you on track with important logistics (like how to apply for a marriage license in the state or country where you’ll be getting married), and work with you and your other vendors to coordinate the events of your wedding weekend. Having that extra support from a planner you already trust to see things through will make a huge difference, and allow you to enjoy your day stress-free.

There is something so special about spending your wedding day surrounded by loved ones who travelled a long way just to celebrate you! Whether your vision is to be married at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or the one on the Vegas Strip, there is truly a destination for everyone.

Happy Planning!

You may want to read this..

This blog is a little different. We will blog about real weddings & events, with real budgets and real expectations. We will blog about the fun things we love - wedding trends, barn weddings,  bridal bouquets, wedding gowns and everything else shiny and wedding & event related but we will also be blogging about the real stuff that come up when planning a wedding and event. Weddings can bring out the best and the worst in people and we will be chatting about how to deal with all of these shenanigans. We are by no means behavioral therapists but we have done this a LOT! We have been in and around weddings & special events for a what seems like forever. We have seen the smiles, the tears and everything in between.

Just breathe and enjoy the planning!
